Fiebing's Saddle Soap is the saddle soap the brand is famous for: it cleans smooth leather thoroughly and lubricates the fibres at the same time, so the leather stays supple and strong. Ideal for saddles, bridles, boots and other smooth leather goods.

Why Fiebing's Saddle Soap?
Fiebing's Saddle Soap goes back to the very beginnings of the brand in Milwaukee in 1895. It became so popular that the US Cavalry at Fort Riley used it to clean and preserve their saddles and equipment – which is why the brand logo shows a mounted cavalryman. Fiebing's calls it the signature product of the house. The advantage over a plain soap: it cleans and lubricates in one go, so your leather does not dry out while it gets clean. For everyday stable life it is the simplest basis of regular leather care.

How to use

1. Brush off loose dirt with a soft brush.
2. Dampen a sponge or cloth (damp, not dripping) and pick up lather from the soap.
3. Work it in section by section with circular motions, a little longer on dirty spots.
4. Wipe off with a clean, damp cloth and let the leather dry completely.
5. Then condition with a leather oil or grease (e.g. mink oil or neatsfoot oil).

Our tip
The soap cleans, but it is not a replacement for conditioning: once the leather is dry, follow up with an oil or paste, e.g. Fiebing's Mink Oil Paste or Neatsfoot Oil.

Good to know
Test on an inconspicuous spot first and do not scrub too hard, especially on delicate or unfinished leather.
